Maureen grew up and continues to reside in Rochester, New York where she enlightens her students with her knowledge and passion for ballroom dancing.  Beginning in 1980 she graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, with minor in music and a concentration in dance.  She went on to attain her Masters degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Temple University in 1987.  Her experience includes her academic studies and also her certification by the Dance Educators of America (DEA) and numerous professional and amateur Ballroom Dance competitions.  Dance performances include:

  • 1992 –Performance at La Fiesta concert with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at the historic Eastman Theater, guest conductor Eric Kunzel
  • 1999 – Dance Performance with the RPO at the Cool and Swingin’ Concert with maestro Jeff Tyzik
  • 2000 – Dance Performance with the RPO at the Dancin’ & Romancin’ Sunday casual Matinee Concert with maestro Jeff Tyzik and Michael Lasser
A true gem of ballroom dancing, Maureen is in a category all her own. Maureen finds a way to make learning ballroom dancing fun and easy. Because of her advanced degrees in education she is able to teach to a wide range of ability levels and learning styles. She focuses on the student and the product. "My students are a reflection of me and I really care that they look good and feel good about their dancing ability." This sets her apart in the ballroom dance community. When attending your first class, Maureen makes it a comfortable environment, which makes it easy to get involved in ballroom dance quickly. She finds a way to instill confidence at every level.
